Oshawa & Durham 14th Annual Métis Heritage Celebration

Oshawa & Durham 14th Annual Métis Heritage Celebration

Oshawa and Durham Region Métis Council invited us to perform and teach at the 14th Annual Métis Heritage Celebration.

While this was our first visit to Oshawa, attending this gathering of friends and citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario felt like a homecoming.

In between performances, we sold some of our handmade fudge to fundraise for Youth4Youth Canada but couldn’t resist buying from some of the other vendors. The beadwork was particularly amazing.

We were grateful that Chair of Durham John Henry, Deputy Mayor Maleeha Shahid, and MPP Jennifer French came by to spend time at the event, despite the inclement weather. The attendees were kind, and the Oshawa and Durham Region Métis Council were marvellous hosts who made us feel loved and appreciated. We hope to be at the 15th Celebration next year.
