We were delighted to perform four Métis jigging dances at the 2026 ISET National Gathering where Indigenous organizations come together to learn, share, and build relationships.
It was wonderful to share Métis fiddle music and dance with a warm and welcoming audience of Indigenous people from coast-to-coast-to-coast who were there to learn and connect
After our performances, we taught a simple routine to an old Métis favourite fiddle tune (Saint Anne's Reel). Many in the audience had never tried Métis Jigging before but were eager to learn some basic steps. It was amazing to see folks of all ages and backgrounds get the hang of it, smiling, laughing, and feeling the beat. Watching the audience try the jigging steps reminded us why we do this — to share culture, build connection, and celebrate who we are through movement.
