We were honoured to be invited to speak, dance, and teach at the Anti-Human Trafficking Conference hosted by Minwaashin Lodge. We went into the day knowing we were stepping into a space centred on safety, resilience, and healing. Before we danced, we spoke about why jigging is healing for us as Métis youth.
Métis Jigging at the 2026 ISET National Gathering
We were delighted to perform four Métis jigging dances at the 2026 ISET National Gathering where Indigenous organizations come together to learn, share, and build relationships.
A Song That Holds Our Stories
We were invited to perform at The Redwoods to begin 2026 in a good way, and it was a truly special afternoon. Joining us were our guest of honour and Elder Reta Gordon, along with fiddler extraordinaire Chad Wolfe. Many residents gathered to enjoy the beauty of Métis jigging and live fiddle tunes, including the Westphalia Waltz.
End-of-Year Reflections
As winter settles in, many of us pause to reflect, rest, and reconnect. The Winter Solstice marks an important turning point—the shortest day and longest night of the year. It reminds us that even in darkness, light always returns. It’s a time to slow down, be with family, share stories, and give thanks for what carried us through the year.
Christmas Party Fun
We had so much fun celebrating culture with the next generation of jiggers! By mentoring Métis youth, we are not only showing steps or traditions, but also motivating our youth to feel a deeper connection to our culture and to the traditions of our ancestors.
